COMPARE
MOISSANITE
& RUSSIAN BRILLIANTS®
TO NATURAL DIAMONDS
Similar to natural diamonds, the
4Cs (Color, Clarity, Cut, Carat Weight) are also applied
to all diamond substitutes. By applying the 4Cs you will
be able to ascertain true value of the stone prior to
making your purchase. Reputable simulated diamond
dealers will allow you to preview the stone before
making this important purchase. Hadar Co. invites you to
preview Russian Brilliants®.
A comparison with moissanite, other diamond substitutes
and natural diamonds can be achieved.
Moissanite
is identifiable due to its silicon carbide content. In
the manufacturing process, moissanite becomes double
refractive, producing a positive (sparkling) illusion in
sunlight. Conversely, when exposed to incandescent or
indoor lighting, the stone takes on a dull center. These
personality swings are greater than those seen in
Russian Brilliants® and natural diamonds. Russian
Brilliants® are single refractive and has more
resemblance to a natural diamond. They have
extraordinary fire and brilliance. They are D-E
(colorless). There are no rainbow consequences seen in
other diamonds substitutes. Some people find moissanite
fine-looking, while others see the double refraction and
color grades ranging from J-M (off white) a distraction
that makes the stone undesirable.
Russian Brilliants® were
originally developed for use in the Russian Space Optics
Program. They are hand-cut, faceted and polished to
ideal proportions. these little beauties are available
in all shapes and sizes. Hadar offers the highest rated
ideal cut round shape. Russian Brilliants® with "hearts
& arrows". The company has also perfected the first
ideal cut princess diamond
simulant. Unlike
hand-cut natural diamonds and Russian Brilliants®,
moissanite is machine-cut (no hearts & arrows). And
Russian Brilliants® can be hand-cut to your
specifications. All antique cuts are available. This is
often done for people desiring "travel jewelry" or to
duplicate a family heirloom. Hadar specializes in
creating all styles of custom jewelry.
Moissanite
is manufactured in the U.S. The overhead and the cost of
doing business is higher than in Russia and many other
countries. This is just one of the factors that make
moissanite more expensive than other diamond simulants.
Hadar markets moissanite on a "call" basis only (800)
322-0995 or (888) 991-1299. Standard moissanite and
Russian Brilliants® color enhanced canary, pink and
"Hope Diamond" blue are also available. Hadar also
offers sapphires, rubies, emeralds and array of colored
stones.

PERSONAL LASER INSCRIPTION
Inscribe
your love! Russian Brilliants® can be heat laser
inscribed like a natural diamond. The heat of the laser
will not affect the integrity of the stone. Some
competing stones offer "cold" laser inscriptions. The
letters are painted black. In time the ink will wash
off. Akin to natural diamonds, Russian Brilliants® laser
inscriptions will last forever.
CONCLUSION: Many agree that moissanite is a
fine alternative. It offers sparkle and flash,
particularly when seen outdoors. For a gemstone that
comes closest to a natural diamond, moissanite may not
be the best choice. If you're looking to best replicate
a natural diamond, the number one choice is Russian
Brilliants®. Some jewelers have difficulty
distinguishing between Russian Brilliants® and natural
diamonds. The eye appeal is equivalent to the world's
finest gem-quality (D-E colorless), flawless diamonds.
Russian Brilliants® are convincingly the most natural
looking diamond simulant.
